What is interesting in the business of making oneself his egg noodles is that it requires few ingredients. Basic, the recipe only requires 15 minutes of preparation and 15 minutes of break. Once it’s still fresh, the noodles just need 3 minutes to cook.

For 6 to 8 servings, you need two and a half cups of all-purpose flour. If you don’t have this type of flour, you can take another type but just avoid investing on the baking one. For you homemade egg noodles, you also need 1 pinch of salt and two eggs of the equivalent amount if you use dried egg. Remember that whether you decide to use fresh eggs or the dried ones, the result will remain the same.

After, you will need a half cup of milk and one tablespoon butter. For this last, take it within a constant temperature. If it’s refrigerated, it will add up some water to tour dough, which won’t be good for it. Once you gather these ingredients, you may follow some simple but precise steps in order to get your homemade egg noodles.

In order to fulfill the recipe, you also have to use a large bowl, a roll out, a knife and a large pot.

Generally, you will have to go through four consecutive steps to get tasty homemade egg noodles.

Step 1

For the first step, you will have to stir the salt and the flour in the large bowl. Aside, mix together the milk and the dried egg. Once the mixture is well stirred, add it into the flour-salt muddle. Don’t be afraid to use your hands and knead the dough until you it turns smooth. The kneading may generally last 5 to 7 minutes. Once its’ done, let it rest. Cover it and wait up 10 to 15 minutes. If you want to get significant result in a shorter period of rest, you can use a damp cloth that you have wet with hot water.

Step 2

For the second step, you will have to work in floured surface. You just then have to take your dough and to roll it out until you get 1/8 to ¼ inch thickness. If you have a pasta making machine, feel free to use it. You just have to cut the dough into the lengths and the shapes that you want.

Step 3

Now, we are in step three. It consists in letting the noodles drying in the air before cooking it. You just need to store it in a constant temperature. Normally, this process aim at letting the dough remix and to avoid them to break.

Step 4 (Last Step)

The last step is the cooking. You have to fill of water a large pot to the level of your pasta. Once it boils, you should add up a pinch of salt and a dash of oil before pouring the noodles. Once it’s al dente or well-cooked, you can pass them through a colander. Now, feel free to add up the ingredients that you want: herbs, spices, meats, vegetables, seeds, eggs, etc.

You can store your fresh noodles up to three days within an airtight packaging and in the fridge. But in principle, it’s better to consume these fresh egg noodles right after they’re made in order to get an unctuous taste and consistence.

To taste your homemade noodles, you can make a regular chicken soup. For that, you will need chopped and cooked chicken meat, chopped celery, chopped carrots, chopped onion, butter, noodles, water, chicken bouillon, marjoram, black pepper, leaf and dried parsley. For the preparation, you just need to sauté the vegetables with the butter and the leaf. After, add the other ingredients and finally the water. Let it simmer during half an hour. Finally, add in the noodles and let it still simmer within 10 minutes. We can also mix with other menu and don’t forget to add more, it’s essential for good health
